Nuuksio high lakeland locates in Southern Finland. It is 53 square kilometers in area and was established in 1994. Nuuksio's appeal bases on its easily reachable location, lakes, biodiversity and trails suitable for beginners and advanced hikers.
Nuuksio can be reached by a combination of local train and bus, or by car or taxi. Drive from Helsinki Centre or airport is only 40 minutes.

- TRAIL WALKING AND HIKING
Explore forest nature at over 30 marked trails. Circular routes nearby leaves from Haukkalampi pond. There are plenty of camping and rest areas along the trails. Lean-to shelters for overnight stays available.
- NATURE CENTRE HALTIA
Nature Centre Haltia hosts fascinating exhibitions about Finnish nature. Also equipment rental for excursions and hikes available.
- FISHING
Ice fishing, hook and line fishing and lure fishing with a single rod are permitted in Nuuksio. In Finland fishing permit is mandatory. Also check permitted water areas for fishing. Brook and fluvial fishing is prohibited.
- CANOEING
Explore Lake Haukkalampi and Lake Nuuksion Pitkäjärvi with a canoe.
- CYCLING AND FATBIKING

How to get there
PUBLIC TRANSPORT
Take a commuter train E, U or L from Helsinki Railway Station to Espoo Station. After that get on a bus 245 Nuuksionpää. Get off the bus at Nature Centre Haltia. The trip takes approximately 1h 15minutes.
BY CAR OR TAXI
It takes 40 minutes drive to Nature Centre Haltia from both Helsinki City Centre or Helsinki Airport.
